NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM DONGENG BURUNG KASUARI DAN CENDERAWASIH

Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam dongeng Burung Kasuari dan Cenderawasih dari Papua. Data penelitian bersifat sekunder karena dipilih secara purposive dari sumber tertulis. Konsep nilai pendidikan karakter yang digunakan adalah 18 butir nilai pendidikan karakter oleh Kemendiknas. Kajian ini dilakukan dengan dasar bahwa pendidikan karakter harus secara kontinu ditanamkan sejak dini dalam jiwa anak. Dongeng nusantara dapat dijadikan salah satu media edukasi pembentukan karakter anak di sekolah mengingat dongeng merupakan cerminan jatidiri dan karakter bangsa Indonesia. Karakter yang ditunjukan para tokoh dalam dongeng BK dan BC dapat dijadikan contoh bagi anak untuk mengembangkan karakter komunikatif, cinta damai, kerja keras, kreatif, tanggung jawab, disiplin, dan jujur.
