Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan khazanah leksikon pohon kelapa bahasa sikka masyarakat maumere, untuk mengetahui faktor- faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat pengetahuan khazanah leksikon pohon kelapa bahasa sikka masyrakat maumere, dan strategi untuk melindungi bahasa Sikka dari kepunahan. Metode campuran adalah metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Kuesioner akan diberikan kepada responden. Setelah mengumpulkan data, peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan maknanya. Berdasarkan data ditemukan adanya penurunan tingkat pengetahuan leksikon pohon kelapa di kalangan generasi muda Maumere yang tinggal di Manokwari yang berada pada tingkat rendah dan cukup, sedangkan generasi muda yang tinggal di kampung Wairklau berada pada tingkat yang baik dan cukup, artinya mereka masih menggunakan bahasa tersebut. Pada generasi tua yang tinggal kampung Wairklau memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang baik.
