SOSIALISASI FUNGSI HUTAN DAN MANFAAT SUMBERDAYA ALAM BAGI MASYARAKAT TRADISIONAL DI KAMPUNG SEMANYEN DAN BARUKI, DISTRIK NUMFOR BARAT KABUPATEN BIAK NUMFOR

Abstract

Forest and natural services are fundamental for people’s live. However, managing forest existence and sustainability has been challenging. This activity is part of keeping forest and natural services for local community. This activity aimed at understanding and identifying local people interaction with the surrounding forest and how their manage forest for their generation to come. Through this activity, several technical information was socialized to local inhabitants in two villages, Semanyen and Baruki as well gained their participation to preserve forest and get involved in plantation. Besides, sharing materials and tools to support locals live were also carried out and improved local children knowledge through teaching activity were also implemented.
